Two Hundred Years of Our American Families [
Nathaniel Clifton to Sarah Jane Clifton The State of Texas I, Nathaniel Clifton, for a valuable consideration to me, in hand paid, do hereby assign all right to, and interest in, to the following real and personal property to Sarah J. Clifton (to wit) one hundred acres of land, headright(1) Thomas Lee and known as the homestead of Nathaniel Clifton and Sarah J. Clifton, seven hundred thirty lbs. bacon pork to be equally divided, one half of the lard, seventy six bushels corn, one medium stack of oats, to have and to hold all of the cattle now in the mark and brand of the said Sarah J. Clifton six pigs, one gilt(2) one hog running at Daniel Stewarts, one mare 14 years (Lucy) one colt two years old (Queen) one colt one year old (Vista) one half of the proceeds of two bales cotton (settled by note) one stove, one saddle, one note against Daniel Stewart $25.00(3) Special $15.25 cts. U S Currency, ten dollars 29 cents, one half of the household and kitchen furniture. One half of farming utensils. The said Sarah J. Clifton her heirs and assigns, to have use and hold to their own profit and benefit for now. Witness my hand this 13th day of February A.D. 1874.
Tested by Before me the undersigned authority this day personally appeared N. Clifton to me well known, and whose name appears to the fore going instrument and acknowledges that he has signed and executed the same for the use and purposes therein contained and set forth. Witness my hand and seal of office at office in the city of Sulphur Springs, Texas this 13th day of April 1874.

Clifton, for a valuable consideration to me in hand paid do hereby assign all my rights to and interest in the following described real and personal property to Nathaniel Clifton (to wit) one hundred acres of land headright of Thomas Lee and known as the homestead of Nathaniel Clifton and Sarah J. Clifton to have and hold all of the personal property left with the Nathaniel Clifton and I the said Sarah J.Clifton do hereby assign all of my rights and interest to the said Nathaniel Clifton to have and now hold to his own profit use and benefit forever.
