According to Modene Huggins, in a conversation 14 NOV 2006, Lula and Dick took in Audrey Bell (Bealle) after her mother Myrtle Stockton Bell died.

On 13 AUG 2009, Christ Stanga, sent me a file he copied from the Hopkins County Courthouse at Sulphur Springs from the records of (cattle) brands and markings. On 11 OCT 1887 F.M. Stockton registered this brand and marking [pdf]. The record stated that he lived 10 miles SW of Sulphur Springs.

Nabors, C. F. Potts, Estelle 06 DEC 1919

Dick and Lula Potts
Ethel Potts was Lula's step-daughter. She was born ~1891. The 1920 and 1930 censuses in Hopkins County shows James B. and Ethel Enix with three children: Lester, b. ~1912; Electra, b. ~1916; and J.B., b. ~ 1918.

The 1920 census lists Lee R. Nabors, with son Cecil, 19, and daughter-in-law Estelle, 18.The 1930 census lists two children: Claris M., b. ~1922; and Martha J., b. ~1925. The widowed Joseph R. Potts is listed as father-in-law.

Enix, Jim - b. 19 Jly. 1887, d. 9 Mar. 1972, New Hope Cemetery, Hopkins County, TX

According to Hopkins County Cemetery Inscriptions, by June England Tuck, Emmis Stockton and Myrtle Stockton are buried in the Shirley Cemetery. Emmis reads "1894-1973," and Myrtle reads "1901-1972".

James Porter Stockton and his son Delmer were murdered on the same day. James Porter Stockton was Francis M. Stockton's brother. The following newspaper accounts explain the situation:
Hopkins Co. TX - Killing of Price and Clarence Wood
Hopkins Co. TX - Killing of Porter and Delmar Stockton
Hopkins County Echo, November 21, 1919

The really strange thing is, that Wilson Stockton had a brother named Porter, who had a son named Delbert, and this son was shot and killed accidently by a local sheriff.

Ishamel Cemetery sits on the land owned by Brody Koon, as well as 2 or 3 other small graveyards.

* A descendant read from his notes that F.M. Stockton bore the nickname "Port." I have my doubts about this. F.M. Stockton had a brother named Porter (James P. in the census notes above) so someone may have confused these two brothers with each other over the years.
