A letter from Amanda Lavina Williams to her husband James Harvey Maxwell, who was serving in the war, 9 AUG 1862.
James H. Maxwell served in the Confederate Infantry, 15th Regiment, Arkansas Infantry (Northwest) Company G according to Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System, along with Comodore Decatur Williams, John H. Williams, and Caloway L. Maxwell. This is confirmed in James Harvey Maxwell's Confederate Pension record along with his marriage date.

A letter from James Harvey Maxwell to F. M. Williams, dated 28 MAY 1886.
The marriage date for Amanda Lavina Williams and James Harvey Maxwell comes from James Harvey Maxwell's Confederate Pension record.
Though many sources claim that Sarah Margaret Maxwell was born in Texas, the 1860 Benton County AR federal census lists James and Lavina Maxwell living in Colville 14 AUG 1860. It's unlikely that Amanda Lavina, more than seven months pregnant, was moved to Texas for Margaret's birth, and returned in time for James Harvey Maxwell to serve the Confederate Army in Arkansas.
