Louise's first child, James Monroe, died in infancy. She named him after her brother James Monroe Compton, who died from the "slow fever," or typhus, when he was 24-years-old. He suffered for four months before he died, and it seems Louise was not notified until after his death. James Monroe Compton's death devastated the family. See Louise's notification of her brother's death. Louise's mother died a few months later.

The Joseph Stewart family is listed, with the Reuben Rabe family listed on page 2. James Watson, at 19, is listed as the grandson of Knox Thurman. He marries Joe and Lou's daughter Mary Magdalene four years later. Two pages further on the Wilson Stockton family is listed. Araminta Emma Stewart, married Wilson Stockton, is the next to the youngest of the original sibling set.

John S. Burks's family lives next door to Daniel McCleskey's family. Daniel McCleskey will later marry Joseph's daughter Ollie Dola Stewart. The McCleskey's live two doors down from Joseph, Lou, J. Walker, Ollie D., A. Clyde, and Ruby L. Joe and Della Maxwell and their daughter live three houses down. Della Maxwell is Della Avery Stewart, Joseph's daughter. Newton C. and A. Doma Williams live two doors down from the Maxwell's. Doma Williams is Doma Rabe, the daughter of Louisiana Carolina Stewart Rabe, aka "Lucy."

James and Maggie Watson [Mary Magdalene Stewart], Homer and Lado Brawner [Ruby Ladonia Stewart] and Joe and Louise Stewart all live next door to each other. On the next page Clyde Arthur is listed with his wife Mabel Unknown.

Joseph Coleman Stewart is 74, married, AL, NC, AL and is working as a janitor at a school building (presumably Florence Hill School). He pays $5 a month for his home. Monroe Carothers, a former slave of James Henry Posey, lives next door. Mr. Carothers is 71, widowed, born in TX, with father from KY and mother from TN. He's listed as a laborer on a general farm.
